while i'm thinking about it, i wonder if i should go ahead and get oscar a camera for christmas. he always loves playing with my camera, but also enjoyed playing with gramma's and uncle chris's cameras at the reunion. i found this nice orange one on amazon which will give oscar a camera of his own and me the satisfaction of buying an orange camera.oscar walked in while i had the amazon page full of kid cameras and said 'look at all the cameras!! can you buy me one??' so i must be on the right track.

If it doesn't use film, I'd say go for it, or ask the grandparents to put it on their "to buy" list. Film can send you to the poorhouse with kids.
